Why can't I order only a dessert?

In Catalan food culture, restaurants are traditionally intended for full meals (lunch or dinner). Desserts are usually enjoyed in a different type of establishment called a granja (traditional café), pastry shop, or coffee house. For this reason, our dining tables are reserved for guests having a meal. This is not meant to be unfriendly or unwelcoming; it is simply part of our local gastronomic tradition.
